The patriarch of Owu Kingdom and former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo, during the just concluded 2023 Owu Day Celebration, prides that Owu Kingdom is the most fortunate among the tribes in Ogun State.

This affirmation, according to the former president of Nigeria is owing to the fact that it is only Owu Kingdom that has ever produced head of state and two term civilian president in the history of the country.
Chief Obasanjo who is the current Balogun and a promient kingmaker in Owuland says that the enviable position the kingdom has attained in the country and Ogun State is as a result of the developmental roles the sons and daughters of Owu have been playing within and outside the shore of the country.

Chief Obasanjo, whose epithet is ‘Ebora’ of Owu kingdom, made this statement during the installation of the Aare Ajagunla of Owu, Chief Alapaekun Shakirudeen. The Ebora of Owuland, Chief Obasanjo, spurred the sons and daughters of Owu, home and abroad, to work with the Oba of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, to take Owu Kingdom to an enviable height.
