In a bid to promote qualitative education in Ogun State, the Ogun State government through its Ministry of Education Science and Technology approves the upgrading of three secondary schools having met the criteria.
The newly created flagship secondary schools are: Premier Grammar School, Lafenwa, Ago Iwoye Secondary School, Ago Iwoye, Ogun Model Smart Secondary School, Ikene
In a statement signed by the National President, Alhaji Kabir Omosanya,the entire Old Students Body of Premier Grammar School, Lafenwa feel elated at the upgrading of their alma mater to flagship school “It is with immense pride and heartfelt appreciation that I announce a landmark achievement in the history of our beloved alma mater—Premier Grammar School that has just been officially granted Flagship Status by the state government.”
Alhaji Omosaya stated that this will further boost the socio-cultural status of the school among comity of schools within and outside the shores of Ogun State. “This new designation brings with it several key benefits such as: Increased visibility, enhanced government funding and strategic role in shaping state and national educational outcomes.”
An illustrious old student of the school and former deputy director, National Television Authority, Pst. Olayinka Rahman commended the state government for the laudable scale-up of the status of the school, adding that this will go a long way to ignite members of old students to be more committed to the growth and development of their alma mater
Premier Secondary School Lafenwa was established in 1959
