Food and Security are inseparable factors in ensuring peaceful co-existence – Olowu of Owu

The Olowu of Owu Kingdom and Paramount ruler, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, has submitted that food and Security are like Siamese twins that can rarely be disconnected in ensuring a peaceful society.
This was disclosed by the well-regarded monarch in a programme organized by Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Lagos State Chapter to mark the 2025 United Nations’ World Nutrition Month at the Rahman Bello Lecture Theatre, University of Lagos.

While addressing the gathering, the revered paramount ruler, Oba Prof. Matemilola, vehemently pin- pointed the need to beef up security and put more effort to increase food production, adding that “No security officer or police will be able to fire any weapon if he or she is not well fed. Wherever there is no security, people will not be able to go to farms.”
At the end of the event, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola Oluyalo Otileta VII, was presented with an award for being a promoter of sport and an ardent advocate of social transformation.

Among the eminent personalities present at the event are: The Olowu of Owu and Paramount of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta Vii, Olori Abm. Adijat Bamidele Matemilola, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, CG B. A. Adeniyi (represented), the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Musa Christopher Gwabin (represented by, Air Vice Marshal Bashir Rimi Mamman, Commandant Armed Forces Resettlement Center Oshodi) and the AIG Adegoke Fayoade (represented by ASP. O. Okunade), General Overseer of Mountain of Fire Worldwide, Prof. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya (represented by the Vice Chancellor Mountain Top University, Prof Ayolabi Elijah, Board Member Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr Ayo Ogunsan (represented) and National president Sports Writers association of Nigeria SWAN, Isaiah Benjamin amongst others.
